1) Monday Musings with Lynn...
==============================
- Relationship Marketing -
When you conduct business offline, you have
the opportunity to establish
a relationship with your client. Even little
things such as your tone of
voice, facial expressions (a smile!) and a firm
handshake make a big
difference in turning a Potential Client into
a Paying Client.
Does conducting business online decrease your
chance to establish a
trusting relationship with potential clients?
Absolutely not!
Your main objective is to meet new potential
clients, and then to
establish trust and credibility with those clients...
Consider the ways
that you can make a positive impression on someone
that you meet through
the internet.
A few tips:
1) Take your time building your business! Spend
your advertising time
and money carefully, and get to know your targeted
market. Find out who
they are, where they are, what their general
and specific interests are,
etc.
2) Become active in online communities such
as Email Discussion Groups,
Message Boards, Forums and Chat Rooms (I recommend
scheduled, business
related, targeted chats). Use your signature
file, but most important is
to add value and content to the group by sharing
advice and resources,
and asking questions of those who stand to offer
advice and resources to
you.
3) Get personal! Include your photo in articles
that you publish, on
your website and on your community profiles.
Post easy-to-find contact
information on your website. Put some personality
into your emails!
4) Publish an e-Newsletter. Update your website
often. Stay in touch
with your targeted market and your circle of
friends and business
associates. Communication is the key - offer
content and be available!

2) Newsletter Promotion: Increasing Subscribers
===============================================
Continuing on with the topic of Newsletter Promotion,
I have found and
am reading an interesting little ebook. I have
made it available to you
(at no cost) at the link below, and would like
to encourage you to check
it out if you are publishing a newsletter or
ezine, or are considering
it in the near future. You are also welcome
to brand it and offer it on
your own site, or share it with friends and
business associates...

by 700%!" Learn how to get
the initial push in your quest for 20,000 ezine
subscribers and gain
maximum exposure. Download this ebook, at no

3) Building & Marketing Your Own Website
- Easy & Inexpensive!
==============================================================
I'd like to introduce you to Site Build It!,
an innovative system by Ken
Evoy. I first purchased MYSS! (*Make Your Site
Sell!) in 2001 and was
VERY impressed... I think you'll find this to
be exactly what you are
looking for if you are ready to develop your
Web Business on your own:
http://buildit.sitesell.com/wsn.html
First, let me say that you wont find hosting
+ site development +
marketing services *anywhere* at this price!
It's definitely worth
checking out!
To go straight to the Quick Tour Slide Show:
http://quicktour.sitesell.com/wsn.html
Site Build It! (SBI!) is the only all-in-one
site-building,
site-hosting, and site-marketing system of software
tools. SBI! makes it
easy for you to build a professional, popular,
and profitable business.
This streamlined system of automated tools makes
it so simple... No
HTML, FTP, CGI, graphic or programming skills
needed. No Search Engine
expertise or consultants required.
SBI! does all that for you. There is nothing
nearly as complete as Site
Build It!'s total business-building approach.
Motivation is the only
additional ingredient required.

Sell!,

4) FTP, Windows Commander Download & Tutorial
=============================================
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is what we use
to transfer files from our
hard drive to our web server (upload), or from
our web server to our
hard drive (download). You can install the shareware
version of Windows
Commander, a simple FTP program, from Tucows.com:
http://www.tucows.com/system/preview/195854.html
Once you download and install the program, you
are ready to set up your
FTP Connection:
Open Windows Commander
Click Net > FTP Connect (in the top menu
bar)
Click the New Connection button (on the right)
Fill out the form:
Session: (ex: Web Service Network)
Host Name: (ex: www.webservicenetwork.com)
User Name: (your user name)
Password: (your password)
(You can leave the other fields blank) Then
click OK at the bottom.
(You wont have to do that step anymore, except
to
repeat it for any other web servers that you
have)
Now you can double click on "Your Site
Name" in that screen (or when you
go to Net > FTP Connect from the beginning),
or highlight it and click
the "connect" button on the right.
This will connect you to your web
server.
Once you connect to the web server, you'll notice
that Windows Commander
is separated into two panes - the left pane
being your web server, the
right pane being your hard drive.
Simply find the files or folders on your web
server, and/or on your hard
drive, and you can "drag and drop"
files back and forth. It's that
simple!
